This is a great post, I agree with all of the suggested website, besides Smarty Pig. There are MUCH better accounts than SP for saving.

Use http://www.CheckingFinder.com/ to find a high yield CHECKING account. Back in mid 2008, I used this site to find my current checking account that gave 6.10% INTEREST ON CHECKING!! FREAKING NUTS!! I have complete control of my money, it’s not locked like a CD, I dont need to swap it out for gift cards or use it on things that I may not want to buy anyway, and it’s compounded monthly. However, since then, with the recession, the bank lowered its interest to I think 3.2% which is sitll HUGE for checking and much more than any big-bank savings account also.

Also use http://www.BillShrink.com/ to analyze your cell phone bills and minute usage and lower your plan. I was using Verizon Wireless with 2100 minutes (family share) and after realizing that ~80% of our calls were free (night, weekend, or IN-network) we switched to 700 minutes, huge savings/month, and we’re fine now.

The list of resources is great. But as far as freshbooks is concerned there are some limitations as well. Another web based invoicing application I like is invoicera.
As far as Google Analytics is concerned it will only be authentic when it becomes paid. Now, the information is little ambiguous.

I agree MySpace could be a good one – I just despise the way it works and how horribly UGLY the majority of peoples pages are which completely turns me off to it. I think of MySpace as more of a high school communication tool with Facebook and LinkedIn being the more professional looking of the set.

Small business owners and entrepreneurs? Doesn’t this sound like freelancers?

I guess you can add the most popular freelancers site to your list. Twitter is unrivaled, no doubt about that but when you mention FaceBook, MySpace comes into mind too.

Other sites I think is important for entrepreneurs – press release sites and perhaps ezinearticles to create the buzz their businesses need.

I understand your frustration with Analytics. Sometimes you can find more details quickly and sometimes you can not. I just start clicking every link that I can and going into any area of the site that I can and usually wind up finding the details that I want to see. I think it just takes time and practice looking through all the reports, sorting, and finding what you are looking for. Good luck!

I’m using Google Analytics, but I’m still confused some days as to how it works. One day I had almost 400 visitors, but I could not figure out where they came from! I had a lot of referrals from Stumble It, but when I went there I couldn’t even find my site listed. I’ve also just recently started to use Mint, just for tracking my credit cards… and I only visit YouTube when my son sends me a link or if I’m watching political videos. I wish I knew more about Google Analytics.
