If you are not following Michael Dunlop, then you flat out need to be! Michael is a great young entrepreneur from the U.K who is making big moves. His site RetireAt21.com is an amazing resource for young entrepreneurs and student entrepreneurs, as well as older entrepreneurs alike!

I had the chance to meet Michael while he was in Washington D.C. for Yanik Silver’s Underground 5 conference a couple weeks back. I’ve been following Michael’s journey for the last couple years so when the opportunity to meet up arose, I was happy to make the 45 minute drive!

Michael is a very dedicated and focused young entrepreneur who is really looking to help others be successful and then allowing success to come to him.

During our two hours of hanging out in the lobby, we conversed about blogging, making money online, traffic generation, new projects coming down the pipe, and much more. Even at just 28 days long, February was a good month for me and Dorm Room Biz. Here are some of the updates and what is to come over the next month.

Moved my RSS feeds from Feedburner to Google – this was an automatic thing that happened the last time that I went to log in to Feedburner. I was asked to move them and went for it. Now, I’ll be able to manage my RSS feeds, Analytics, AdSense, AdWords, Analytics, and Gmail all from the same account. Sounds pretty nice to me! I haven’t been using it long enough to tell if the transition really has any effect on anything. If you are not subscribed via RSS, do so! Have any of you guys experienced problems with the transition or even good things come from it?

New Dorm Room Biz Theme – I know I’ve mentioned it before and eluded that something new was coming. Well, the time is finally here and in the next couple weeks it will be launched. I have a programmer assisting me with the WordPress customization and everything is going well. For an idea of what the site will look like, it will be based off of the Open Air theme from WooThemes. Look out for this exciting change coming soon!

More Videos! As you have probably noticed, I have started making and posting more videos. I love the way that the video blogging or “vlogging” arena is headed and definitely want to be involved in it. For this reason I have been utilizing my Flip video camera more than ever shooting different videos for blogging tips, business tips, and interviews. New Advertisers on Dorm Room Biz – I’m happy to welcome GreenerBilling.com as a new advertiser on Dorm Room Biz. If you are looking for a “green” way to do your businesses billing and invoicing online, then I suggest you check out GreenerBilling. They have some great updates coming to their site soon and we will be putting together a full in depth review of the site shortly. Also, back with us for another month are the great guys over at Uprinting with some links in the sidebar. If you need printing services, check them out. I recently got some postcards printed with them and they turned out great!

Chance to Meet other Young Entrepreneurs – With February came Yanik Silver’s Underground 5 held in Washington D.C.. Although I didn’t attend the actual conference I did head down to D.C. to meet Michael Dunlop who was over from the U.K., as well as Ryan Allis, and some other young entrepreneurs. Ryan is also pretty well known as a speaker at many events on entrepreneurship including the Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization conferences and the Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour.

At the CEO conferences, when he gives a keynote, he likes to be real and break it down. Literally, he dances to Soulja Boy on stage as seen in the video below – dancing starts at about the 1:20 mark.

Ryan had been recruited as a speaker at the Underground 5 event and it just happened that he was still in town on Sunday. Now, some of you may remember that Ryan was nice enough to sponsor a Dorm Room Biz contest and supply a signed copy of his book to a winner, so thanks again for that Ryan!

I knew Ryan was a great guy and seemed very laid back, but besides that, I honestly had no idea what to expect from him. So when he said that he’d be more than happy to meet and chat, I figured it would be a quick 10 minute thing. Yet, Ryan was more than happy to hang out with a group of young entrepreneurs for about an hour, giving his time and insight, as we talked about everything from business to sports in the UK to helping children get an education in Africa.

A question I wanted to get an answer to was why he decided to dance to Soulja Boy at the CEO conference during his Keynote and what students can get from attending the CEO conference and other conferences. You can see his response in the video below.

Thanks for keeping it real with us Ryan and hanging out. It was a pleasure to get to meet you finally and enjoy a good discussion about a range of topics. I’m sure many young and student entrepreneurs will continue to follow your journey over the next several years and look to you for inspiration.

With the conference being in Washington D.C. and living within 45 minutes of it, I got the chance to meet up with some of the young entrepreneurs and basically organize a small meetup there in the lobby of the hotel while the conference was going on and met a handful of attendees.

Among the guys there, I got a chance to meet up and talk with Michael Dunlop, Ryan Allis, David Leggett, Garrett Goldsmith, and some others.

We had a great chance to talk about entrepreneurship, social action and social entrepreneurship, sports in the US and the UK, and much more. I’ve got a couple videos that I’ll be posting up over the next few days of Michael and Ryan, so look out for them.
