Recent Updates at Dorm Room Biz

I’ve been making a couple different updates to the site over the last week or so and just wanted to share them. They are simple updates but will hopefully help out the website in one way or another.

I have done the following:

• Fixed up the Advertising page and added Buy Now buttons to allow for instant purchases, so go buy some advertising spots!
• As you have probably noticed, I have started adding some new videos to the site to accompany different posts. I mentioned that I got my Flip video camera the other day and it has been working great.
• I added a few new affiliate/sponsor buttons in the header area as well as the sidebar. All fo these spots are currently up for grabs, so if you want to do some advertising buy yours today!
• UPDATE: I guess I should have also added that I updated to Wordpress 2.6 and have been slowly upgrading all my other websites to it as well.

I have some other things in the works for Dorm Room Biz to keep growing, so look out for them coming in the next month or so.

In other news, I also updated my personal webiste the other night, www.chrispund.com. It was just a redirect to a blog that never really got updated, so I wanted to use it as a landing page for my network of websites. Now it has links to my active sites, so check it out.

Got my new flip video today!

The other day I placed some bids on a Flip video camera on eBay and won one for about $50 less than retail, not too shabby! Anyway, because it was used, it didn’t come with any instruction booklet or anything that is supposed to come with it except for the case. Anyway, so far I like it and think that it will work really well for putting together videos. I’ll be making some while down at the Outer Banks this coming weekend for sure!

Bic Promo Pens and John Chow Launch Flip Video Camera Contest

The evil John Chow has partnered with Bic Promo Pens to launch a new contest on his blog this month. The contest is for a new Flip Video and Mini Flip cameras. As usualy with John’s contests, leaving a comment on his blog will get you entered into the contest with the hundreds of other people. On top of that, you can write a post, like this, talking about the contest.

I am sure you guys know all about promotional items that you get from companies when they are trying to sell something to you or when you attend a conference, well Bic Promo Pens is no different offering promotional pens and similar items. I am a fan of promotional items, because many of them I use. I used to get a package once a month from a promotional products company that did printing for me a couple times on different items. Each month they would send me some different sample products, and always included pens. Besides the markers, sticky notes, coffee mugs, and cups that they sent I usually enjoyed the promo pens the best; simply because I could use them daily and it saved me from needing a stock of pens incase I left one on campus somewhere or lost one.
