If you’re the kind of person who would rather spend your days outside on the fresh air than cooped up in a stuffy office all day, it doesn’t mean you can’t still become a successful entrepreneur. The fact is, there are almost as many ways to earn your living outdoors as there are inside.

Don’t believe us? Check out these excellent outdoor business ideas for 2020 and beyond:

Landscape gardening

Landscape gardening is a great career choice for entrepreneurs who likes to be their own boss and spend a lot of time outdoors, but who also has a pretty creative side. The beauty of setting up a landscape gardening business is that it’s something you can do alone or with one other person when you’re just starting out. As you get bigger and better, you will probably want to take on more staff so that you can tackle bigger, more impressive projects, but in the early days, you can make your money doing up small yards and still earn a fair living.

Personal trainer

When many people think of personal; training, they think of the gym, but many personal trainers work outdoors in parks, gardens, beaches – you name it. Outdoor personal training sessions have become very much more popular since the coronavirus pandemic, so now may be the perfect time to take the plunge and find your first client. Want to scale up the business? Turn it into a franchise.

Asphalt maintenance

There are already a lot fo great asphalt maintenance companies like Brite Line Asphalt Maintenance, Inc. around, so this is an option you should perhaps only consider if you have a knack for marketing, but it’s a great way to earn a decent living while spending most of your time outdoors. After all, asphalt is an ever-present part of modern life in the US, so someone who can lay it and look after it is always going to be in demand.

Plant nursery

Setting up a plant nursery certainly takes a lot of time, dedication, and patience, but if you’re green-fingered and you’ve always loved plants and flowers, it could be the business of your dreams. You’ll get to spend all day every day surrounded by pretty petunias and fragrant roses, and what more could you ask for?

Forest school

If you’ve always dreamed of running a business that helps people and you think that working outdoors with kids would be a dream come true, starting your own forest school could be ideal. You’ll need land, and most likely a teaching qualification, but if it means you can spend your working life teaching kids about nature, helping them to soothe their stress and anxiety, well it would be totally worth it, right.

Glamping company

Buy some land, fill it with cabins or yurts, and invite people to stay for a fee. As long as the views are picturesque and the cabins are suitably glamorous, it’ll be a license to print money, especially now that coronavirus has shown us all the value of spending time in nature, breathing in fresh air.

Good luck with your future venture!
