Make Money From Your Website With Google Search

Written by Chris on June 12, 2008 – 11:59 pm -

I’m not sure why I hadn’t thought about this earlier, but it is very easy to make money online with the Google Search portion of your Google AdSense account. Just about every blog and most websites have some sort of internal search for their site. This feature easily allows users to search for different terms, pages, or points of interest.Google AdSense

Well, most people just use a basic search system that may have been provided to them or that was already developed (a plugin, a pre-made script, whatever it may be) and are done with it.

But, if you configure your site’s search feature to utilize the Google Search bar code from your Google Adsense account, it is a great way to make some extra income. Utilizing the tool, you get paid for any search that happens through the search bar. As an example, I have a Google Search on one of my websites and although it does not get a lot of searches, within the last month or so, it had 16 searches done using it. This brought in a whopping $2.00. Now, that is $2 more than I would have had if I did not utilize the search feature.

Short story is if your site receives a lot of internal or external searches, get ahold of yourself and use the search feature from Google Adsense to help your make some more money online from your website! If your bringing in tens or hundreds of searches everyday, this amount will quickly add up!

Anyone already doing this and having success from it? I have seen a bunch of different popular bloggers using this method for their site’s search and will be implementing it in the future!

Make Money From CashCrate. It is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

Written by Chris on April 28, 2008 – 5:38 pm -

Over the last couple months I have been involved with a great money making opportunity for students. The service is called CashCrate. I have most about CashCrate many other times on Dorm Room Biz describing the program as well as when I got my first check! Well, another check came recently and I thought I would post a little bit more about CashCrate and how easy it is to make money from surveys and different offers.

CashCrate is a great system because you can make money without even filling out the surveys. Although filling out the surveys means that you can make more money, it is time consuming and can be a bit of a pain. The problem with these surveys and offers is that to complete one you will definitely have to give up your email address and will most likely have to complete other offers for it to go through. However, there are some great ones that pay well, if you pay. For instance, I completed the Netflix offer which was a 15 day free trial and then costs like $8.99 a month after that. I joined through CashCrate and submitted it as being completed, and although they waited the 15 days to make sure that I actually joined the service and made the first monthly payment, I was then paid $15.00 - so I essentially made $6.01 for joining Netflix which I had been wanting to do anyway. If you take some of the higher paying offers that you may spend a couple bucks on, you can make even more money back. Some offers will cost you $2-$5 to complete (usually for shipping of something like a book or DVD) and then you’ll get paid say $15-$20.

However, surveys are just the tip of the iceberg with CashCrate. They have a great referral system which allows you to promote a referral link on your website or in forums. When people sign up through your link, you get paid. When the person completes their first $10 worth of offers (the minimum payout), then you as the referrer get paid $3.00, these are your first level referrals. You then also make money from your second level referrals. This means that when you refer someone to CashCrate and then they refer someone else, you make money that way. Starting out, you make 20% of what your referrals make and 15% of what their referrals make; yet as you refer more people, this percentage gets adjusted and can increase.

So, if you can continually refer people to CashCrate, or any similar service that has the same kind of referral program set up, you can be making money without even having to fill out the surveys. This is the point that I hope to get it. So far I have 13 first level referrals and a second level referral. As these people continue to refer others, I will continue to make money.

Here is the important secret though - you need to complete your first $10 worth of offers to really take advantage of the program. So, spend 30 minutes when you sign up and just keep completing offers. If you reach that $10 mark, great, but you could always keep going. For my first check, I only had one referral payment of $3 and the other $20 some was from referrals. For April so far, I am making about $10 from my referrals. So if you join and complete that first $10 mark and then refer people, you can really make some money with the CashCrate program.

Now, this is a great side income generator so, I encourage you to join CashCrate, complete the $10 worth of offers, and then promote the hell out of the program. It is great to watch your monthly earnings continue to rise and receive emails saying that you have earned more money for not doing any work.

——–

Are you already a member of CashCrate? How are you promoting the service and earning money? I’d love to hear other people’s success stories from using the program!

Do You Report Your Blog Income? Question To My Readers

Written by Chris on April 24, 2008 – 1:00 pm -

Just a quick question that I wanted to ask my readers today - do you report your blog income? Basically, here is what got me thinking.

Yesterday, I got another check from CashCrate for participating in surveys and for referring new members. My pondering began because I thought about how when I signed up for the program, they asked for my Social Security Number for their records and their own reporting.

So, to any affiliate program users and money makers out there, I want to know if you report your blog income. I can understand if you are making more than a couple hundred dollars a month and how it may look a fishy if you do not have a business entity set up to report it as income to. But for the average blogger who may make say $30-$100 a month off of affiliate programs such as Commission Junction and CashCrate, do you report that income with your income tax?

I figured this would be a good time to pose the question since the deadline for taxes just passed…which was also my birthday!

10 Best Ways for College Students to Make Money Online

Written by Chris on March 26, 2008 – 12:00 pm -

Money. It’s what every college student wants and what every college student lacks. You can save up all summer and it is sure to be gone by Thanksgiving. Or, more likely, Columbus Day weekend. There are tons of ways students can earn money online and keep up with the trust fund kids. Here a few:

  1. Teach the computer illiterate. Do you know your way around a computer better than you do your school’s library? Branch out your services to those who think a click of the mouse means their vermin troubles are gone.
  2. Help others set up their computers. Many people have computers but often incorrectly install their new machines or aren’t aware of the upgrades their systems offer. It can also be as easy as making sure they’ve got everything plugged into the right outlets.
  3. Join the blogosphere. Does everyone tell you have great ideas? Or maybe just you think you have great ideas. Either way start your own blog and if you’ve got something to say that people want to hear then the advertisers will be eager to be seen on your site.
  4. Create and update webpage designs. Every company now wants to and needs to be on the web hocking its wares. If you’ve got experience creating webpages then your services will be in high demand.
  5. Join an online auction. eBay is the place on the web to sell anything from your prized possessions if you’re really in a bind or maybe old baseball cards for some extra cash.
  6. Help others join the digital music age. The old record collection doesn’t have to lie in dusty heap anymore and, if you have the little equipment needed, you can help transfer these old classics to a digital library.
  7. Clean up computer messes. Computers are constantly being ground to screeching halts by viruses and spyware these days. Computer users are eager for help cleaning up their systems.
  8. Scour the internet for lost records. Scan the internet for background checks for employers or track down old classmates for clients.
  9. Sell the next hot .com name. Selling domain names may sound passé as it seems all the good ones are taken, but with new .tv or .info domains emerging the possibilities are endless.
  10. Be a photographer. With digital photos taking the place of the old family scrapbook, computer savvy individuals are in high demand to help computer illiterates in this new direction.

February CashCrate Check Arrived!

Written by Chris on March 17, 2008 – 11:00 pm -

After coming home from Spring Break, I was excited to find in the mail my first check from CashCrate. I was very happy to be paid pretty quickly, considering it probably arrived on the 12th or 13th. Even though it wasn’t an earth shattering amount, $26.25, every little bit helps!

This month so far from only doing a couple offers last night, I am up to $16.61 so I’m looking to cross over the $50 mark for this month if not more.

I have a post coming up on Wednesday about a different technique to managing your time and getting your priorities done efficiently. This concept will play into making money from CashCrate and dedicating so much time a week to put towards earning more and more from their system.

Has anyone else signed up for CashCrate and found it as a good money maker? From the little bit of time I put towards it after joining, I am liking it so far.

CashCrate - a great way to pick up some extra cash!

Written by Chris on February 29, 2008 – 12:00 pm -

A week or so ago I found the site CashCrate through another blog and checked it out as a way to possibly pick up some extra cash. Now, I won’t say that it is easy or free money, but it may as well be close to both of those!

For those of you who do not know, CashCrate is a website that allows you to complete offers and surveys, and get paid to complete them, even better!

What do you do?
Simply enough, you fill out different offers from different companies including other websites that get you to fill out surveys for money. Although it may be a little time consuming to do some of the surveys, you can usually fill one out in just a couple minutes.

How much can you earn?
It really depends on how much time you can give to filling out the surveys and how much you are willing to spend. Yes, you read that right - how much you are willing to spend. Most of the offers are free, but only pay out less than $1.00; yet some you can pay a couple bucks towards and you get a much higher return. Example: I paid $4.95 to cover the shipping cost of an eBay information guide and program. The payout for the offer was $15.00. The pay out for free offers can range anywhere from $10.00 to 20 cents.

With messing with the system for just about an hour, I completed offers totaling $30.85 with 8 offers. I have had $26.25 of that already approved.

What’s the best part of the whole system?
The minimum payout for you to get your money is only $10! That sounds a lot better to me than many other similar sites and programs where the minimum pay out is something like $25.00 or more.

So, if you have the free time, want to make a little extra money for your time, then check out CashCrate and start completing some offers!

Is there a downside? Yes, you may start to get a lot of spam email (so make sure your spam filters work) and you may get some telemarketing phone calls because some sites will ask for your email addresses and phone numbers.

Another Google AdSense Deposit!

Written by Chris on February 28, 2008 – 8:00 am -

It took me a few months more than I wanted to, but without pushing/optimizing my sites too much for Google AdSense, I did just get a nice deposit into my account for my account balance.

The last couple weeks seemed to have brought in a decent amount of daily income, over $2.00 a day, more than I have been averaging. I contribute this to some more exposure on TheRavenSymone site, some new units added to Dorm Room Biz, as well as some different units placed on a new site that will be launching within a week that pays out some nice returns.

With the launch of the new site, and as it grows, I am hoping that the AdSense deposits will start coming more often!

On a side note, the months of January and February have both been good earning months for my online activities; most of which has come from Dorm Room Biz. I have had a number of sponsored posts and ReviewMe reviews that have brought in some nice extra little change.

I’ll also be posting about a new program I started using the other day to get some extra income in my spare time!

TNX.net Review

Written by Chris on February 17, 2008 – 7:00 pm -

TNX.net is text link brokering service which helps advertisers and publishers buy and sell text links much like TextLinkAds and similar sites, however, TNX is a bit different.

Like the other networks out there, TNX displays text links on publisher’s websites through an ad code. Unlike the other services out there, TNX takes the approach of selling their links by individual page and not for the whole site.

TNX is also different from TLA and others because they deal in TNX points rather than actual money. Yet if you want, you can exchange your points in for money. The point system works for both sides of the fence – advertisers and publishers. Advertisers purchase points before being able to place ads and publishers receive TNX points when ads are placed on their site, and like I mentioned, they can then be traded for actual cash. The attractive part of this system is that it allows publishers to purchase a bunch of points and then use only a certain amount for different ads to see which are producing the best results and also to save some points for later on, say for a different campaign.

As a publisher of ads you have the ability to control the ads that are displayed on your sites pretty easily within the account control panel. Publishers can block ads, delete different ones from pages, or you could even ban a website that is advertising on your site – this is happening a lot because of a lot of different spam and wares sites that are getting their ads displayed.

If you do get into the game of earning a lot of points and transferring them to cash, watch out for their payout system that only allows you to withdrawal up to a certain amount of your points per day.

If you are looking for a new text link ad website to try out on your website to make some money from, check out TNX. Their different approach to the whole game may provide to be an advantage for you. If you have a decent sized site with a good page rank, your payout per page should be pretty decent. And then if you have hundreds or thousands of pages indexed, then you can easily start to rack up some decent side income from your site for having a small text link ad displayed wherever you would want on your website.
