Marketing trends and employee management have shifted, and companies that want to continue to grow need to align themselves with these new trends. Focusing on digital resources in order to make a company run efficiently is essential moving forward into 2021.

The need for effective communication between employees has not changed, but the way collaboration needs to happen has changed. Some companies have transitioned to completely remote working while others are on a hybrid model with some employees at the office and some at home. With employees spread further apart, the need for communication that is effective and efficient is vital.

There are many reasons that employees will need to communicate. Company meetings or briefs are still important, but a lot of times they cannot be held in person. Video conferencing tools are a great way to stay connected and impart important information in a place where people can contribute and ask questions for clarification.

The management of a project is another area in which employees will need to communicate immediately in order to keep things running on schedule. Project planning tools can help all members of a team stay on the same page and up-to-date about the status of the project. This makes assignments, due dates, and completed tasks easy for everyone on the team to see.

Launching a new product is also something that has changed. Product launches are digital now and need to be done in a way that will reach the maximum number of viewers. If an employee feels valued, then they are going to be invested in the company. This means more engaged and motivated employees. They will take this sense of inclusion and pass it on to your customers.

Target Demographic

With even more online competition, it is more important than ever to know your target demographic and create a marketing strategy that will connect with them. Trying to reach the widest net of people, in general, is going to overextend your budget and manpower pretty quickly.

While it is ideal to have the widest customer base possible, there is no way that all demographics are going to be equally invested in your products or services. There is going to be at least one subgroup that is more likely to be interested in your products. That is where you want to focus. Filling a need for one specific group is going to make your marketing and advertising dollars stretch further and give you a higher return on your investment.

In order to find your target demographic, you need to start with data. Find data on past customers and create a profile of the ideal customer with attributes you see most often. You will need to start with their basic information like age, gender, and location, but you then need to go deeper.

You should also look at their values and where they typically spend the most money in the market. You need to know what gets them excited, where they are spending their time on the internet, and what essentially makes them tick.
