Basics

Absolutely everybody who is starting any business needs to go and make sure that they have all of their social media channels reserved. This includes Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and more.

It might feel like a bit of an extra step that you don’t need. However, you might be surprised how popular your name is, or will become. As you do this, make sure that you register your domain name.

You are also going to create a business plan. This business plan is not just for you; it will be what you use for investments and to keep you on track in five/ten/more years.

During your time creating a business plan, you will spend time researching very carefully all of the licenses and permits that you need. There are some food items that will have to have special licenses.

Products

One of the critical things is to pick a niche and use that. This will stop you diluting your brand firstly and overstretching yourself. Once you are more established, you can then take on more different types of food and drinks.

For example, if you choose to import fruits and vegetables, you’re going to need a different kind of import method than you would if you were going to do meat and fish. It is also vital that you look into things like ambient trucks, warehouses, and ice machines, as well as security and more.

Do as much research into your products as you possibly can.

Suppliers

Once you have picked your fascinating food product, you’re going to have to find a supplier. You can find suppliers online, but when it is safe to travel, it is a good idea to go and meet the suppliers yourself. This means he will be able to feel, at sea, and taste their products. Not all suppliers are created equal, and your sales do rely on getting this right.

Consumers

The final piece of the puzzle is, of course, your consumers. All of the marketing foundations that you lay doing the necessary steps will be part of what you use to find your customers. If you are a specialist and niche, you will most likely find that you have some apparent customers.

However, you can get some customers the old-fashioned way. The old-fashioned way of cold calling or sending samples and speaking directly to buyers as often as possible.

Often all you need is a one seller to be interested, and you will find that you have plenty of customers who are waiting to enjoy your products.

Import-export business can be very profitable, but you must conduct research thoroughly before you start.
