If you’ve been running a business for a while now but don’t feel as though you’re getting any further, then this means you’re stuck. You may have been doing everything right, but now you want to take things even further, but you don’t know how to go from great to incredible. This isn’t something that you should worry too much about because every business will experience this at some point. It’s very easy to be on a winning streak in all the races, but very hard to get into the top team and then win there.

There are many different ideas about how a business can grow. Some people think it means making more money. Others think it means branching out and opening up another base somewhere in a different city, or even country. But really it’s all down to the way that you define it, but you need to do that soon so you know what goal you’re trying to reach. You can’t get to a destination if you don’t have the map.

If you’re still not sure though, then here are some of the most basic forms of growing and expanding to get you thinking.

Expand the office

If the environment that you’re in is no longer fitting or appropriate for your business, then it may be time to move and find something that is better suited. People find it difficult to do this because they may have made so many memories there starting out, but look at this change as a positive, because it means that you’re doing well and have the means to expand. You can learn more about the type of properties that are available to you, and who knows, you may find something so perfect that it isn’t difficult for you to leave your current spot anymore.

Expand the team

It would be unnecessary to hire in more employees if you didn’t need them, as this will only end up costing you money. But if you have an idea for them, then that changes the game entirely. Marketing, for example, is a department within your business that can never do too much. The more you reach out on as many different levels and platforms as you can – the more leads you make, and the more chance you have of them turning into sales. So expanding your marketing team just means that you now have more hands to do the reaching. One team could focus on various social media platforms, while another team focuses on a blog, for example.

Expand the passion

You may find that you have begun losing that fire that burned so strongly within you at the beginning. As sad as this may be to admit – it happens. You find yourself getting so busy that you start to forget about why you even started this journey in the first place. One way to remember, is to go back to day one. Find your crumpled pieces of paper about your business idea. Find the plan that is scattered away in your drawers. Find the truth again.
