Over the past weekend I picked up a book from the Entrepreneur Press “Startup” series entitled Start Your Own Blogging Business. I thought it may help me come up with a few ideas for blogging or growing Dorm Room Biz. Well, this is definitely a guide for a beginner, or someone who has not done any blogging before. Don’t get me wrong, the book has lots of great information, however, if you have already started blogging or have been blogging for a while, then the information presented in the book will help you out in getting started and explain some concepts to you.
These are the main features of the book:
- Planning your blog: choosing a profitable topic, credibility, picking a name, choosing a platform for growth, and bringing on staff or contributors.
- Publishing your blog: community blogging services, web-based blogging services, installed server applications.
- Profiting from your blog: how to begin the blog, generating traffic, generating revenue, media kits, and running multiple blogs.
- Becoming a business: business classification, registering your business name, hiring help, and more protection.
If you have just started your blog, I recommend you check out the book, if you have been blogging for a while and have a hang on what you are doing, I recommend checking out some of the different blogging books.
I haven’t been blogging for that long, but I’ll have to check out that book. Seems interesting.
